1. Licence grant
When you buy, you receive a limited, non-exclusive licence to use the software.
The licence is for one person, on up to two computers, for example a desktop and a laptop. The Hand & Eye bundle gives you exactly the same licence for each of its two products as buying them separately.
2. Your documents and output
You retain any rights you already hold in the documents, text, images and other material you bring into the software. Subject to third-party rights, we do not claim ownership of an output solely because it was created using the software.
You can use the software freely for commercial and client work, including paid PDFs, ebooks, workbooks and course materials.
3. What you may do
You may:
- Install and use the software on up to two computers.
- Make a reasonable backup copy where permitted by law and the delivery system.
- Use the software for client work and for products you sell.
- Continue using the purchased version after optional update cover ends, subject to Windows compatibility and any disclosed licence service.
4. What you may not do
- Share, sell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the software, licence key or download access.
- Allow more users or computers than the licence permits.
- Remove ownership notices or present the software as your own product.
- Reverse engineer, decompile or alter the software except where applicable law expressly allows it despite this restriction.
- Use a licence key obtained through fraud, theft, an unauthorised seller or a refunded order.
- Interfere with licence, update, security or usage controls.
5. Replacement computers and transfers
If you replace a computer, stop using the software on the old one and install it on the new one with the same licence key. You can do this as often as you need to.
A licence stays with the person who bought it. It cannot be sold, given away or transferred to someone else. If you are not sure whether something is allowed, contact Support rather than sharing the key or buying through an unofficial seller.
6. Updates
One year of updates is included with the initial purchase. Optional continued updates are intended to cost £25 a year for either app or £50 a year for the bundle.
The licence to use the purchased version does not expire just because the update period ends. New features, major versions or services may have additional requirements if clearly explained before you choose them.
7. Third-party components and content
The products may contain open-source or third-party components governed by their own notices. Those notices apply to the relevant component and do not give you a right to redistribute the Handpress products as a whole.
You are responsible for licences and permissions for fonts, images, code or other content inside documents you open, edit or sell.
8. When the licence ends
A refund ends the licence for the software that was refunded, as set out in the Refund Policy.
We may also end or suspend a licence if a key was obtained through fraud, theft or an unauthorised seller, or if this licence is seriously breached. Except where a key is plainly fraudulent, we will contact you first, explain the problem and give you a reasonable chance to put it right. If a licence ends, stop using the software and remove it from your computers.
Any final ending provision will preserve rights and remedies that the law does not allow us to remove. Subject to third-party rights, ending the licence will not give us ownership of an exported document.
9. Consumer rights
Nothing in this licence removes any statutory right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded. If the software is faulty or does not match its description, the Terms of Sale explain how those rights fit with this licence.
